Free Candle Wax Calculator

Wax weight is calculated by multiplying the container volume by the wax density. This calculator does this automatically and accounts for an 85% fill to leave room at the top of your container.

Most waxes perform best at their recommended fragrance load (usually 6-10% for soy). Using too little results in weak scent, while too much can cause sweating, poor burning, and actually reduce scent throw.

We calculate at 85% fill to leave headspace at the top of your container. This makes the candle safer, prevents overflow when the wax melts, and gives a more professional appearance.

Wick size depends primarily on container diameter and wax type. Our suggestions are a starting point - always do burn tests. The wick should create a full melt pool within 1-2 hours without excessive smoking.
